Legislation: One new amendment proposed by Nolan is (H.J.Res.48) a bipartisan constitutional amendment declaring corporation are not people, money is not free speech. This amendment looks to overrule the supreme courts ruling over the citizens united court decision. This would mean the end of corporate money influencing campaigns, and campaign Finance. This amendment would make elections more fair and help reduce the effect of big business on the candidates. Rick Nolan has gone on record to say.
“It’s time to establish once and for all that corporations are not people, money is not free speech, and our elections and public policy-making process are not for sale to the highest corporate bidders,”Nolan said-(Nolan.house.gov)
Crossing party lines: Gun control for hunting. Rick Nolan is an avid outdoors man. he love hunting and never misses a season opener. Because of this he believes in the right for Americans to own guns. This goes against many of the views of the Democratic parties views, calling for increased restriction on guns.
